DWF Law LLP

Uinsure

What the judges said:

We were really impressed with Uinsure’s presentation – this insurtech blew us out of the water in terms of its offering. It’s new, it’s innovative, it’s disruptive and Uinsure deserves a commendation for that. The mortgage lenders want to have insurance in place and yet they are dropping customers along the way. Instead, Uinsure makes the process easy because it gives choice. Bright eyed, bushy tailed, a relatively young company and cash positive.

4
Challenger of the Year

This award is designed to recognise entrants from across the whole general insurance landscape that can demonstrate a successful project that has delivered real, disruptive change in the sector.

DAC Beachcroft and AA

DWF Law LLP

What the judges said:

DWF Law is utilising information in a way that could actually make real, impactful change. It is not asking loss adjusters or the like to measure things following a road traffic accident, it is grabbing information from photographs. DWF Law is looking at things in a different way to get a better result. The law firm is responding to an unintended consequence of the whiplash reform and using technology to provide this service.

Sam has also continued to be an active participant in the UKGI market, working as an investigator for Sedgwick. He even helped to test and deliver a remote, digital platform for conducting customer interviews, using his own experiences to enhance Sedgwick’s customer offering. A vibrant and passionate individual who is having a far-reaching and positive affect within our marketplace. Rosie Drummond, Bspoke Group

Ryan Eckhard, Antares Global

Yasmin Berhardt, Altea

What the judges said:

Yasmin is an impressive professional who is fast becoming a go-to expert in a very niche underwriting field of medical malpractice, healthcare and life sciences. Not only has she continuously progressed through her insurance exams to shore up her specialist underwriting knowledge and gain further qualifications, but she has increasingly sought to take on additional responsibilities in her day job too – for example, creating a facility that is now generating a very healthy gross written premium. She is also fostering a network of likeminded professionals by creating a quarterly breakfast speaker series, showing a proactive attitude and hunger for personal and professional development.

We were impressed with the detailed testimonials included in Yasmin's nomination too. She is clearly nurturing some very collaborative relationships with partner firms and peers that enjoy working with her.

Yasmin's career to date showcases a professional on the rise, someone taking their career seriously and proactively exploring the upper rungs of the career ladder. We are excited to see what she does next.
