Rules of Entry

Eligibility

The Insurance Times Awards are open to all FCA-authorised insurers, Lloyd’s syndicates, and brokers operating within the UK General Insurance market. Select categories are also open to managing general agents (MGAs), service providers, industry partners, law firms, loss adjusters, and technology vendors. All entrants must be active within the UK general insurance sector.

Some award categories are open to individuals, while others are designed for departments or teams. Make sure you review the category entry criteria carefully to ensure that your submission aligns.

You are welcome to submit more than one entry per category, whether for different projects, teams or individuals. However, you must ensure your written submissions make it clear precisely who or what part of the company is being entered. If you enter the same project, team or individual into multiple categories you should tailor each submission to ensure it meets the specific category requirements.

If you are submitting an entry on behalf of a client (e.g. as a PR agency), please include the client’s contact details as a cc on the online entry form. This ensures all relevant parties receive timely updates and communications regarding the awards and judging process. We do not accept responsibility for missed communications due to incomplete contact information.

Written Submission (Stage One)

The first stage of Judging will be based on your written submission and any supporting materials you choose to include.

To maximise your chances of success:

  • Be clear, concise, and compelling - Ensure your submission is well-structured and directly addresses all questions in the entry form.
  • Demonstrate impact - Use data, metrics, and tangible outcomes to show how your project, initiative, or solution stands out.
  • Highlight what’s unique - Focus on what differentiates your work and why it deserves recognition.
  • Stay within the word count - Entries that exceed the limit may be penalised.

For all ‘of the Year’ categories, judges will be looking for evidence of achievement between 1 January 2024 and 31 July 2025. While the product, service, or innovation itself does not need to be newly launched, the results and impact described must fall within this timeframe. Be sure to include:

  • The launch date (month and year) of your product/service/innovation.
  • Clear timeframes for all metrics and results, as outlined in the category criteria.

Entries missing this information may not be shortlisted.

All entries must be submitted via the official online entry system. Any supplementary content—such as charts, graphs, photos, or infographics—should be uploaded as supporting material, not included in the main entry form.

All information contained in the Entries and marked confidential will remain so and will not be released without the permission of the entrant.

Supporting Material

You may upload up to three supporting documents per entry. Focus on quality and relevance, not volume.

Research documents, case-studies, staff newsletters etc. can all help to demonstrate impact in a practical and easily accessible way and may be included where relevant.

Judges may also review relevant websites or videos, so full URL and access codes (if applicable) should be provided. Please ensure all links remain active until 5th November 2025, the end of Stage 2 judging.

Presentation to the Judging Panel (Stage Two)

If your Entry is shortlisted, you (or a representative/s from your company) will be invited to deliver a virtual presentation to a judging panel on either Tuesday 4th or Wednesday 5th November. If shortlisted in multiple categories, you may be required to present on both days.

Details regarding the platform, schedule, and presentation expectations will be shared after the finalist announcement on Tuesday 7th October.

  • Please note: Participation in the presentation stage is mandatory. If you are unavailable or choose not to present, your entry may be withdrawn.
  • No alternative dates, times, or formats will be offered.
